Boondall Wetlands October 2020

In middle of Spring migratory birds find Brisbane and Moreton Bay a pitstop on their journey to their new homes. Boondall Wetlands is one of the best birds viewing hotspots within the Moreton Bay region. This event is your opportunity to be part of the experience about the importance of migratory birds and their habitats at Boondall Wetlands. Upon arriving at the environmental centre, we will go on an hour bushwalk to the bird hide at the edge of the Nundah Creek in the middle of the wetlands. At this time, you will play a game of bingo to find the birds on this tour. We will also conduct citizen science exploration as well, that involves you to learn more about how important of the wetlands for the migratory birds! The workshop also includes nature art and craft session where we able to socialise with others who are keen to learn about the birds and wetlands. This is another opportunity for you find what you love about the birds and wetlands. The event is fully accessible for all young people from all walks of lives. There is accessible toilets and wheelchair safe pathways, especially to the bird hide! What to bring? Water bottle, sun safe clothing and hat, sunscreen and enclosed shoes, and smiles! Meet at the picnic tables next to the entry of the centre at 8am. Please note that our events are COVID19 Safe with hygienic measures. We provide hand sanitiser and masks if necessary.
